Erlang/OTP Product Information

Erlang/OTP is aimed at efficient development of competetive high availability systems. It is based on the Erlang programming language and consists of an Erlang run-time system, a number of ready-to-use components, and a set of design principles for Erlang programs. Erlang/OTP is used in several Ericsson products such as AXD301 (ATM switch) and SGSN, GGSN (GPRS nodes).

Keywords for Erlang/OTP are short time-to-market, openness to sourced hardware and software components, platform independence and low costs for development and operation.

Erlang/OTP is currently available for the following platforms:

  • Solaris 8,9 (Sparc)
  • Suse (8, 9) Linux x86
  • MontaVista Linux PPC
  • Sles10 (32-bit, 64-bit) Linux
  • Windows 9x,NT, 2000, 2003, XP
  • VxWorks (PPC 603, PPC 750, PPC 860)

Erlang/OTP has also been released as open source for the above mentioned and a number of additional platforms, please refer to the Open Source Erlang web site.
